8,30am Saturday 8th onwards we set up our paintings. Kevin had already set up the hall with the tables, chairs and display boards, in itself a very big job. Meanwhile members unpacked the enormous amount of homebaked scons, cakes etc and prepared the kitchen for two days of cafe business. As per the job rota that Anne had prepared. 10,30am the gates opened and from then on there was a steady stream of visitiors. At the end of the day our impression was that there were somewhat fewer visitors compared with previous years. However sales held up well,
On the Sunday there were quiet periods but then there were hectic times as well. At 11am we all observed the 2 minutes silence as it was the Rememberance Sunday. The cafe coped well and the payment system ran smoothly (with ideas of how to improve it further). Sales were in effect marginally higher than previous day. Before the close of each day we had a draw for the raffle and the price, an excellent hamper each day.
With all hands on deck plus a few friendly volunteers we managed to dismantle and stove away the exhibition stands, chairs, tables etc in less than one hour.
