On the 23rd (Saturday) and 24th (Sunday) of May 2026 we held our 16th exhibition. Lucky for us Kevin had set up the necessary tables, display boards and arranged the stage, in advance. Most of us arrived at 8.30 to display our paintings. Janet B. Provided the raffle prizes (a hamper and wine bottles for each day). Jenny, Jan and others also prepared the cafe, unpacking cakes, quiches, buns etc. The tables were decorated with fresh flowers. By 10.30 we were ready to operate according to the rota that Anne Cairns had arranged, so the doors opened.
The first 2.5 hours were very busy and sales were very good. The Payment Point worked very well and the stock of paintings and cards that Marion had entered in the payment software (with some improvements following experience from previous exhibitions) came to good use.
During the Sunday there was a steady flow of visitors/buyers. The cafe proved very popular both days. The raffle was drawn at the end of each day. Overall the exhibition was a success, much thanks to good organisation and hard work by all involved. Another measure of the success was that all visitors seem to enjoy themselves and were quite happy to delay the collection of the paintings they until the end of business on the Sunday.
This time we managed to pack our paintings, dismantle displays, tuck away the tables and display boards, reset the stage etc in record time. Partly thanks to help by outside volunteers (much appreciated).
