Lesbury Village Hall

A little gem at the heart of the community

Today we are lucky to have Kevin Nicholls showing us how to create masterpieces using ink and water plus anything but paint brushes. In the introductory phase we divided our sheets into a number of rectangles. We then painted various shapes, forms, lines etc using sticks, feathers, twigs etc. This was to show us how one can use these unusual tools. Next stage, using a larger sheet, we drew three lines across the sheet and proceeded to add shapes, blobs, water etc using these ‘tools’, spontaneously creating something that, as an afterthought, might be imagined as landscape. Thanks to Kevin’s cheerful teaching and commenting of our individual creations we had a very stimulating session helping us to loosen our preconceived understandings and working without being in full control of the process
