This Monday we had the pleasure of Joe Hush showing us his way of painting. He explained how he occasionally used photographs as the initial inspiration for a painting . However, he, more often than not, modifies the picture to enhance it. Even then he feels free to emphasise part of the picture when actually in the process of painting the view.
Joe spoke about the colours he’d chosen for this excercise. No green as he prefers to mix his own green colour. He showed us how he sometimes use very plain material as ‘canvas’ Throughout this session he also circulated sketches, drawings etc so that we all could get a closer look. Later he visited us all individually to comment on our progress.
