7.    Treasurer’s report

The report was circulated prior to the meeting.  Finances are healthy and there were no questions about the report.

8.   Power supply & energy update

In the light of the recent decision giving listed building and planning consent, an options appraisal comparing the Northumberland Community Energy Ltd option and using funding to set up an independent system was proposed.

Agreed: IF and KM to circulate an options appraisal paper with a view to deciding in January 2025 on the most cost effective and beneficial
approach to adopt.

9.   Development Plan

Lighting

There are concerns about the spotlights being left on after events.  The dimmer switches are not used very often.

Agreed: to replace current switches with on/off switches for the spotlights.

Action: KM to change the spotlight switches.

Repointing

New specification to be sent out seeking tenders for the work.

Action: KM to work on specifications and send out tenders for the work so that the
quotes given are comparable.

Yard drainage

GW cleared the weeds from the channel, and this seems to be effective.

Action: KM will check to see if clearing the channel has resolved the problem, if not consider other solutions.

10.  Mobile cash/card machine

Mary H asked if the committee would consider having a card machine for hall events.  It may be possible
but would need to link to a single account and would require a committee member to be present to operate the card machine.

Agreed: Not sufficient demand.

11.  Christmas arrangements

JM and KM will put up the Christmas Tree and decorations, but a new Christmas needed. It would be sensible, for health & safety
reasons to have one that is pre-lit, easy to assemble and easy to store. JM’s research suggested a 7ft tree would cost in the region of £200.

Agreed: buy a new Christmas Tree

Action: JM to buy and organise the tree

12.  AOB

·       Plumbing now repaired but the plumber who drained the system did not replace the rust inhibitor, essential to keep the
system in good order. Cost expected to be £50 for inhibitor plus labour; hopefully under £150 .

Action: KM to organise

·       PD asked if water for the bowls club was metered separately or if the bill was a proportion of the hall bill.  JM confirmed that There is a meter in the feed to the bowls club that we use. The standing charges are shared 50/50 with the bowls club

·       A minor accident occurred at the fundraising event in November resulting in a hospital visit and report to RIDOR; the
injuries were superficial and the report was not needed.  Nothing could have been done to prevent the accident.

·       No meeting in December, unless there is an emergency.
