7.    Treasurer’s report

August income lower than rest of the year, as expected. There were fewer events and not all clubs meet in August. No significant concerns about budget or accounts at this point. The new two-year contract for supplying gas is expected to give a saving of £1400 per annum.

8.   Power supply & energy update

Planning application to go to committee on 24th October.  The application is one of several being submitted for listed buildings. Waiting for outcomes of that decision before deciding on suppliers of batteries. Hall users have been asked to make their views known about the planning application on NCC planning portal.

9.   Development Plan

Plan up to date; no further work to be completed this month.

10.  Village Shop use of kitchen

Members of the shop committee are looking at three options, to enable them to provide fresh sandwiches and scone for sale in the shop.  One of the options is to hire the hall kitchen so that they could produce their own supply. They would put in a new lockable refrigerator for their sole use and would hire the hall for around an hour a morning for three or more mornings each week.

Agreed: This would be treated as a normal hire.

Action: JM to report back to group

11.  AOB

Church would like to hire the village hall for two services each month during the winter.

Agreed: This would be treated as a normal hire.

Action:  JM to report back to the Church Warden

A question was raised by a member of the art group serving teas in the supper room about whether an electric fly killer was needed where food was being consumed. Current hygiene regulations expect this provision in areas where food is being prepared, but not where it is being consumed.

Action: KM to report back to the art group member

PD serviced the water heater and discovered it needed descaling and a new filter.

Agreed: PD to replace the filter and complete descaling
