Balbir Singh Dance Company

Get ready for an explosive cultural experience you won’t want to miss. Balbir Singh Dance Company will be bringing their highly original and accessible style of dance to rural venues across the north. From village hall performances to workshops, flashmobs and house concerts. There will be opportunities to take part and watch performances which will fuse classical Indian and contemporary dance styles.

Balbir Singh is a dancer and choreographer whose work has won critical acclaim. The company have attracted international attention through high profile pieces such as the Cultural Olympiad commission Synchronised during the 2012 London Olympics. Yet despite delivering large scale work, Balbir Singh’s choreography retains at its heart an intimate style which is most at home in smaller settings. Much of the work is designed to be performed with live music, and this, together with his attention to detail, ensures that audiences will be treated to performances of the highest quality.
