Winter Birds of the Northumberland Coast - August 2025
On Wednesday 6th August, a packed Village Hall was entertained by Tom Cadwallender … this time the subject of his talk was ‘Winter Birds of the Northumberland Coast.’
Born and raised Northumbrian, Tom is currently a freelance ornithologist, author, Vlogger, broadcaster, lecturer, traveller and most importantly, a birdwatcher.
Tom has been studying birds, particularly waders and seabirds, for over five decades and has a rich in-depth knowledge of many species. A British Trust for Ornithology (BTO) diehard, appointed BTO Regional Representative for Northumberland in 1991, and enjoys nothing more than counting birds for conservation, financial gain and fun, and he will spread the ‘ornithological word’ to anyone who will listen.

Summer Birds of the Northumberland Coast - August 2023
The fundraising evening on Wednesday 2nd August 2023 was a resounding success with a packed Lesbury Village Hall.
Tom Cadwallender was the guest speaker and everyone enjoyed his presentation and story telling.
Geoff Watson, the Town Mayor of Alnwick and Craig Weir, the Mayor of Amble, were in attendance.
