10.00 Exhibition of WW1 artefacts, Piper Laidlaw and “School Memories” opens in the Hall and Display at St Mary’s Church 

Refreshment Marquee serving Tea, Coffee and Homemade Cakes

Yard Activities:

  • “Yard Games” (Hop Scotch, Hoops, Whip and Top, Skipping ropes etc)
  • “Wash Days – Then and Now” (Bailiffgate Workshop)
  • “WW1 Camp Kitchen” (Time Bandits demonstration)
  • “Modern Soldier” (Army Cadets)
  • “Green Energy Smoothie Maker” (David Malone)

12.30 Drill Exercise (Army Cadets)

13.45 Parade led by Army Cadet Force Association Pipes and Drums followed by Army and Air Force Cadets, KOSB Association, RBL and WF Association,  Time Bandits, Hipsburn School,  Laidlaw Family Members,  Representatives of Lesbury Parish and Northumberland County Councils.

14.00 Unveiling of Plaque and Commemorative Paving Stone

14.15 Pipes and Drums perform in front yard till 14.30Facilities Map

14.30 Hipsburn School Stage Item Inside Hall

15.00 Drill Practice for Children (organised by Time Bandits)

16.00 Exhibition ends and memorabilia retrieved by donors

16.00 Refreshment Marquee closes

18.30 Doors open for evening showing of acclaimed WWI period film telling the Michael Morpurgo story of a man and his horse directed by Steven Spielberg  which starts at 19.00 and finishes 21.15 approx
