Lesbury Village Hall

A little gem at the heart of the community

The 30th and 31st March, i.e. the Easter weekend, were the dates for our 12th exhibition. With nearly 200 paintings from the nineteen artists there was a wide variety of scenes for the visitors to take in e.g. inland and coastal landscapes, still lifes, abstracts and a good range of art-cards.

The attendance was good thanks to promotion using, a big banner at the roundabout, posters in various locations in nearby villages/town plus a mention in the local church magazine and an article in the local newspaper. There was also some promotion via social media.

As usual the cafe was well attended with offerings of coffee or tea plus an abundance of cakes. A tombola raised money for the local Hospice.

Thanks to hard work by Kevin the hall was ready for the hectic spell when the artists set up their wares. In addition Jenny and others prepared the kitchen and Janet’s tombola hamper was displayed. Meanwhile Marion got ready at the Pay Point.

The dismantling of the exhibition was a lot easier thanks to family and friends helping out.
