Today we had an interesting workshop with Helen McDonald Mathie. Helen had advised us beforehand what material we needed. Today she also gave us a handout going through the various stages of painting today’s particular challenge. Helen then painted, using acrylics, and talked us through the process stage by stage. She actually painted both a landscape and a portrait version. Helen gave us fairly detailed ‘instructions’ but at the same encouraged us to apply our own kind of input. At the end Helen showed us a few ways by which we could finish the painting at a later time. I believe we all enjoyed the workshop and came away with new technique ideas.
