Lesbury Village Hall

A little gem at the heart of the community

This time we hade the benefit of Ruth Bond’s expertise. In particular she encouraged us to use a limited palette but also work with clear bright colours. She introduced us to using water mixable oil paints. Although the paint was water mixable she maintained that we use dry brushes, i.e. not dipping them in water before or during use. Ruth then painted a version of the view of Dunstanburgh castle after which we spent some time trying out her technique during which she gave us individual advice. The whole session was a great success, helped by displaying Ruth’s progress on the cinema screen making it easy for us to follow her work.
